Quacking Cow Animal Rescue, Inc

A 501(c)(3) Tax-Exempt Colorado Non-Profit Corporation

About Us

Quacking Cow Animal Rescue, Inc was founded to serve and protect the welfare of abandoned, unwanted, abused, neglected, or threatened horses and to lessen and prevent animal cruelty.  We intend to take in horses in need of assistance through buying horses at auction that would otherwise go to slaughter, receiving horses that can no longer be cared for by their owners and are voluntarily surrendered, and providing an emergency intake facility for horses that have been rescued from abusive or neglectful owners.

Once a horse has come to Quacking Cow Animal Rescue, we will begin its rehabilitation process by ensuring it receives responsive and preventative medical and farrier care and establishing an appropriate dietary program.  Once any existing medical issues have been resolved, we will begin the process of establishing or reinforcing the horse’s trust in humans and evaluating the horse to determine its potential for performance.  For example, we will try to determine whether the horse is broke to lead, tie, ride, etc, is physically strong enough to be ridden and in what capacity, has a preference for or fear of men, women, or children, or should be used for companionship purposes only.

Horses that are medically sound and socially able to be placed in permanent homes will be available for adoption by members of the public.

We have received our 501(c)(3) tax exempt status.
