Why aren’t there any horses listed as available for adoption? We only list a horse as available once any known medical conditions are appropriately resolved and we’ve had a chance to work with and get to know the horse. If there are no horses listed, then we’re either still in that process or just don’t have any horses right now. We try to be very careful about not overwhelming our resources, and unless there is an emergency situation, we want to make sure we can cover several months of food and routine medical expenses with existing funds prior to taking in more horses. We have seen too many cases of horses having to be rescued from rescues that can no longer care for all of the animals they’ve taken in, so we try very hard to not get in that position.
